Services: Integrating DIWE into the Curriculum

For teachers who have completed our introductory workshop or who have significant experience using the Daedalus Integrated Writing Environment (DIWE), we offer an on-campus workshop that will help make the software a seamless component of your overall instructional goals.

Workshop Overview
This one-day workshop provides personalized guidance as instructors develop their courses, units, and assignments using DIWE tools. The participants will work alone and also collaborate with their colleagues to analyze their current curriculum, pedagogy, and assessment practices in order to identify areas where DIWE activities can be integrated most effectively.

Objectives
By the end of the workshop, participants will accomplish the following:

Participate in a facilitated discussion about course goals, teaching goals, and assessments.
Develop a sample lesson plan integrating current practice and a DIWE tool.
Develop a sample unit combining a series of DIWE lesson plans.
Collaborate with colleagues to develop a class scheduling plan.
Collaborate with colleagues to develop an in-house professional development plan.
